Erdemir to optimize supply chain

Erdemir and AIS started a long term collaboration to implement SteelPlanner in Erdemir´s sales and production environment. The scope of this project includes the sales and operation planning, master and detailed scheduling of Erdemir´s production sites.
After a comparative selection process, Erdemir chose SteelPlanner to optimize its entire supply chain. AIS, in collaboration with its local partner, Siemens Turkey, will implement the complete SteelPlanner APS solution on Erdemir´s production sites in Eregli and Iskenderun. Sales forecasting and sales planning functions will be implemented across both sites while capacity planning, master and unit scheduling will optimize each of the two sites.
Facing several challenges at once, such as the booming Turkish steel market, looming competition, as well as the combination of the two sites activities, this project will help Erdemir to keep its leading position in the Turkish steel market.
This project started in May 2008 and will go on until 2010 on the two sites with a distance of more than 1.000 km from each other. The implementation will be managed by AIS with the help of Siemens Turkey for local support.
