Industeel, Belgium, orders cold plate leveler
Mar 17, 2009
Industeel Belgium SA has ordered a new 9/5 cold plate leveler for its Charleroi works. Industeel is a member of the ArcelorMittal group and specializes in the fabrication of high-quality heavy plates. The order comprises the supply of the mechanical equipment, electrical and automation system as well as the utility systems.

The 9/5 cold plate leveler is rated for the leveling of high-strength plates which are up to 4,200 mm wide and between 10 and 50 mm thick. The maximum leveling force of the 9/5 cold plate leveler is 42 MN.

In addition to the hydraulic main adjusting system, each leveling roll of the machine with patented concept has another separate hydraulic individual roll adjusting system and individual drive unit. In cooperation with the leveling model this allows individual settings to be chosen for each plate. By being capable of operating on nine and five rolls, the machine can handle a very large leveling range.

The cold plate leveler will be part of a new heat treatment line and start operation at the end of 2010.
