NLMK restarts blast furnace #2 and #3

update NLMK has put its blast furnaces (BF) #2 and #3 into normal operation.

The furnace #3 in the Lipetsk works has a maximum production capacity of 1.3 million t/a of pig iron. BF#3 was idled for a general overhaul in October 2008.
 
As part of the 100-day overhaul of the 2,000 m³ unit, the furnace shell and cooling system were partially renovated and the refractory was fully relined. The overhaul cost was RUR65 million.

The 1000 m³ blast furnace #2 which with a total capacity of 700,000 t/a underwent a 100-day overhaul.

The annual pig iron capacity at the Lipetsk production site will reach 7.9 million tonnes, and steel-making capacity utilization will reach 87%.
