Danieli was awarded a contract for the supply of a complete new cold mill complex for Acciaieria Arvedi, Cremona, Italy . The scope of supply includes:
  • 650,000-t/a PPPL-Push-Pull Pickling Line for heavy gauges (1.5 to 12 mm) with 3x16 m pickling tanks.
  • 1.7-mt/a CPL-Continuous Pickling Line (0.6 to 4 mm; with 4x28 m pickling tanks) coupled with a 3-stand 6-high Tandem Mill;

The first line to be commissioned will be the PPPL, which is scheduled to start up in September 2008. Three months later, in December 2008, the CPL will start its testing phase, and will finally be coupled with the tandem mill on October 2009. The No. 2 and No. 3 galvanizing lines will follow in July and December 2009, respectively.

The new facilities will incorporate high-tech plants and equipments that are cost-effective in producing the ever-increasing quality of galvanized coils required by the market, and are conceived to challenge the ambitious target of reaching extremely high productivity with ultra-thin gauges.
