VIZ-Stal, Russia, to implement new planning system

VIZ-Stal, part of the Novolipetsk Steel group (NLMK), produces cold-rolled electrical steels and grain-oriented electrical steel in Russia. The company ordered a new planning software for the VIZ-Stal plant in Yekaterinburg. VIZ-Stal will use the components of the Planning system within the whole steel plant.
With the use of PSImetals VIZ-Stal aims to increase transparency of the production process based on continuous feedback and the collection of production data. This allows an early response to events in production, thereby improving the quality and avoiding rejects. The result should reduce the material consumption of finished products per ton. VIZ-Stal also wants to increase the efficiency of the production process and the utilisation of production capacities as well as the reduction of work in progress by improved planning functionality such as order sequencing and cutting optimisation.
