Walking beam furnace for Salzgitter Flachstahl hot strip mill, Germany.

On June 26th, the 1st hot slab was discharged from the walking beam furnace in the Salzgitter Flachstahl hot strip mill, Germany. The furnace designed, realized and installed by Tenova, has a capacity of 300 t/h to heat up slabs with different qualities up to 1.280 °C. The furnace is already running with a significant production, in parallel with 2 other furnaces in 3-shifts and in automatic mode.
