Three walking beam furnaces and two complete roll shops for TKS, U.S.A.

TKS-ThyssenKrupp USA has placed an order with Tenova, in consortium with German SMS Demag, for the green field project in Alabama, U.S.A.
The order is relevant to the engineering, supply, training, and supervision to erection and commissioning of three new walking beam furnaces, 420 tph capacity each, for carbon steel and stainless steel production.
Tenova Pomini will supply two complete roll shops: one for the HSM and the other for the CRM.
The order is part of the TKS Compass Project which will have an overall production of 5, 5 Mt /a. The hot commissioning of the plant is scheduled for March 2010.
