China Steel; Taiwan, orders sixth RH plant in a row

China Steel Corporation located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has ordered the sixth RH plant from SMS Mevac, Germany. The order comprises engineering, delivery of all plant components, erection and commissioning services as well as training of customer’s personnel. Amongst other grades, the unit will produce ultra-low carbon steel for the automotive industry as well as non-grain oriented silicon steel for electrical sheets, e. g. for transformers.

In the second quarter of 2012 the new 250-t RH plant will be put into operation at the converter plant No. 2.
