Two walking beam furnaces for Hyundai Steel, South Korea
Mar 12, 2010
Hyundai Steel, South Korea, has recently completed the start-up of two 235 metric tons/h walking beam furnaces for reheating slabs for a new plate mill at Hyundai Steel’s Dangjin, South Korean plant.

The new fuel-efficient furnaces are equipped with low NOx burners. The control and automation package that features an advanced thermal model-based Level 2 control system was also supplied.

The furnaces started operation in December 2009 and are currently operating at capacities that match the customer’s scheduled ramp-up production plan. The furnaces will provide Hyundai Steel with the ability to efficiently reheat slabs for the production of consistent quality plate products.
