Kerstin Garbracht: Siegfried Neuenhausen modelling a horse´s memory
Jul 10, 2006
It was exactly here in the center of Hildesheim city, close to the town hall at the entry of today´s main shopping mile where in former times the horse market was held. Trading horses, in those times, represented a pretty good source of income thus bringing prosperity to the whole town. Keeping this memory alive, the city´s corporation of traders, a private initiative asked contemporary artist Siegfried Neuenhausen to translate it into art. The result is a bronze covered precast concrete part showing several details related with horse trading. STEEL GRIPS attended the laying of this work of art.
