ArcelorMittal denies intention to sell Brazilian assets
Feb 6, 2009
There were rumors in the market that ArcelorMittal is planning to sell its assets in Brazil to Usiminas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais S.A.
However, ArcelorMittal recently denied all such rumors and said the rumors were false and that the company had no intention to sell the assets to anyone.
"It's just not the right time for that," a brazilian analyst told STEEL GRIPS. "How can someone sell an asset in the current economic scenario and at what price?"
Usiminas refused to comment.
