The new name reflects the structure of the membership of the association which is composed primarily of the steel producers themselves as well as the national steel associations. The activities will remain the same in terms of cooperation amongst the national steel federations and companies in all matters contributing to the development of the European steel industry as well as representing the common interests of its members towards the European institutions and international organisations.
