Cold strip complex now in operation at Arvedi´s
Feb 20, 2011
Acciaieria Arvedi´s new cold strip processing unit entered operation in the Cremona works. It consists of a continuous pickling plant and a 3-stand, 6-high in-line tandem cold rolling mill. Downstream, a hot dip galvanizing plant serves for corrosion resistant coatings.
The cold rolling facility is fed by material from the ESP-line, which was started up in 2009.
The pickled, cold rolled and galvanized strip produced here is available in the thickness range from 0.2 to 2 mm, whereas maximum width is 1560 mm. Production capacity is around 1.2 – 1.4 million t/a.
The drawing, structural and HSLA steel grades from this line are intented for application in the automotive, white goods, painting and building industries.
