A study on the electro-synthesis of zinc oxide films
Zinc oxide, linear sweep voltammetry, electro-deposition temperature, film thickness
Thin films of zinc oxide (ZnO) were grown by potentiostatic and galvanostatic cathodic deposition onto Cu, stainless steel, Ag and glassy carbon electrode (GCE) substrates from a simple aqueous zinc nitrate electrolyte. The electrode position process has been studied by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and chronoamperometry techniques. A parametric study was carried out by varying the deposition temperature and the substrate.
Read, how the nature of the substrates (Cu, Ag, stainless steel, GCE) influence the electrochemical behaviour of the system. See the effect of various operating conditions, e.g., the applied voltage, deposition time, bath temperature and bath stirring.
Which are the optimum deposition parameters? Does surface morphology of ZnO films vary if deposited under different conditions? What will SEM and XRD pattern disclose?
