April 2010 crude steel production

China’s crude steel production for April 2010 was 55.4 mmt, an increase of 27% compared to April 2009. It is the highest amount of crude steel China has ever produced in a single month.

Elsewhere in Asia, Japan produced 9.0 mmt of crude steel in April 2010, up 56.7% compared to the same month last year. South Korea’s crude steel production for April 2010 was 4.8mmt, 22.9% up compared to the same month last year.
