STEEL GRIPS

Aims and Scope

STEEL GRIPS - Journal of Steel and Related Materials will provide its readers with the latest information about modern materials.

While focusing on steel, it will always keep an eye on other materials and their application close to and around steel. No matter whether you are discussing, e.g., tailored blanks of only steel or hybrid blanks of steel and aluminium, or special properties of organic coatings for steel sheet, or the recycling of by-products, ferrous and non-ferrous, from the steelmaking industry, STEEL GRIPS - Journal of Steel and Related Materials is the central meeting point for everybody involved in materials and technology.

During recent years, a knowledge gap has formed in many countries between research and development on the one hand and practical operation on the other hand. This could only happen because industry dropped in-house departments for R&D and research activities have been shifted to universities or other research institutes. As a consequence, engineers in R&D often have no idea of the daily obstacles production engineers have to overcome. And contrarily, engineers employed in operational practice are not informed of the benefits their colleagues in R&D have already worked out to make their life (almost) trouble-free. And there is even a third party: the suppliers. They need information from both sides to offer useful equipment that works reliably.

With its unique new concept, STEEL GRIPS takes into account recent development: Each issue will highlight an individual topic of common interest from three points of view, i.e.

STEEL GRIPS has also prepared a special field for our young talents: Juniorsī Suite. It will, e.g., cover technical notes, information about special lectures and programmes etc.

And, last but not least, you may be looking for A Bit of Art? This is a topic that will round off every issue. Get another idea of your favourite material!
